Thompson Develops Rural Strategy for Mercy
Ardmore—Bob Thompson of Mercy Health System of
Oklahoma has been named vice president of rural health care development.
After the completion of 13 successful years as the
president of Mercy Memorial Health Center and more than 40 years of
health care experience, serving many of those years in rural health care
facilities, Thompson will assume full oversight and responsibility for
rural growth strategies for Mercy in Oklahoma. He will also focus on:
developing physician consultation and shared medical services,
management or lease relationships with rural hospitals and clinics, and
setting up partnerships that allow patients to receive care within their
own communities.
“Bob’s invaluable experience in Oklahoma health care
and his outstanding credentials make him the ideal choice to help Mercy
build strong relationships with smaller communities across Oklahoma,”
said Di Smalley, president and CEO of Mercy Health System of Oklahoma.
“He understands the rural dynamics very well and will play a key role in
our community outreach.”
